Floyd Harrison RUPPENTHAL, 61, died Friday morning, December 8,
1950 in Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient since November 25.
Born March 24, 1889, in the Highland Community, he was the eldest son of the late Henry M. and Ida IDEN RUPPENTHAL. He was a member of the P. O. S. of A., and a member of First E. U. B. Church.
Until two months ago he operated a grocery and service station on the Martinsburg Road just beyond the town limits. He retired due to ill health but continued as representative for the State Farm Mutual Insurance, Co., and the operation of a tourist court.
Surviving him are his wife, the former Melvie HOVERMALE; two daughters, Mrs. Carl NEWBRAUGH and Mrs. Lewis ALLEMONG, of Berkeley Springs; three sisters, Mrs. Emerson NOLAND of Great Cacapon; Mrs. Fred MORGRET of Berkeley Springs and Mrs. Victor FUNDERBURG of Martinsburg; six brothers, the Rev. Harry P., of Durham, N. C.; Virgil H. of Cumberland, Md., Lester T. and Paul M. of Martinsburg; Ercel B. and Henry M. Jr. of Berkeley Springs; and six grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Sunday afternoon at First Evangelical U. B. Church with the Rev. Paul J. Slonaker officiating. Interment was in Greenway Cemetery. Bearers were Vernon, Benton and Melvin Wilson, Hammand Shriver, E. B. Ruppenthal, Jr., and Lacey McCoy, Berkeley Springs; Theodore and Medford RUPPENTHAL, of Martinsburg.
