Medford Paul Ruppenthal, 80, went to be with the Lord on
Tuesday, Feb. 18, 2014, at Berkeley Medical Center.
Born Dec. 21, 1933, in Berkeley County, he was the son
of the late Paul Medford and Hazel Helena Hoffman
Ruppenthal.
He was a contractor, builder and developer of Sky-Lin
Park and Meadow Lane Plaza, he taught heavy equipment at
James Rumsey, and was a realtor for Baker & Parkinson
Reality.
He was past elder at Bethany Presbyterian Church, past
president of Martinsburg Lions Club, and served on the
Berkeley County Planning Commission, a pilot, and was
involved with the North End Airport.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Vivian
Nisewarner Ruppenthal; three sons, Craig Ruppenthal and
wife, Brenda, Darrll Ruppenthal and wife, Roxanne, and
Bret Ruppenthal; three grandchildren, Justin Ruppenthal
and wife, Carissa, Robert Lee Ruppenthal and wife,
Jennifer, and Paul Ruppenthal; five great-grandchildren;
and one brother, Samuel Henry Ruppenthal and wife,
Sandy, of Sunrise, Fla.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Phyllis Jean
Smith.
Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday,
Feb. 21, 2014, at Brown Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb.
22, 2014, at the funeral home with Pastor Ed Taylor
officiating. Interment will be in Rosedale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made
to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude
Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or a charity of one's choice.
