Alvin Leroy Alexander, Sr., 58, of Berkeley Springs, died Tuesday, October 24, 1995 at Morgan County War Memorial Hospital in Berkeley Springs.
Born May 10, 1937 in Morgan County, he was the son of Virginia E. Yost Edens of Washington, D.C.
He retired form the Western Union Company after 30 years of service and most recently was employed at Maryland Ribbon Company in Hagerstown, MD. He was of the Protestant faith.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, June J. Whisner Alexander at home; three daughters, Cynthia K. James, Martinsburg; Ruth J. Fuller, Boonsboro, Md, and Lynn E. McIntire, Berkeley Springs; three sons, Alvin L. Alexander, Jr., Weyers Cave, VA; Kenneth R. Alexander and Donald L. Alexander, both of Berkeley Springs, step-father, Donald Edens, Washington, D.C., maternal grandmother, Helen
Ambrose Yost, Berkeley Springs, 12 grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
Services were held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 27, at Berkeley Baptist Church with Rev. Everett Powell officiating. Burial was in the Greenway Cemetery, Berkeley Springs.
Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, 306 Union Street, Berkeley Springs, was in charge of the arrangements.
