Maurice Dean “Deanie” Kesecker, age82, of
Berkeley Springs, WV died on Sunday, March 8, 2020 at War
Memorial Hospital.
Born July 14, 1937 in Berkeley
Springs, WV on the family farm he was the son of the late
Paul Franklin and Julia Viola Grove Kesecker.
He
was a member of Wesleyan Chapel in Berkeley Springs. He
graduated from Berkeley Springs High School. He was in the
United States Air Force. He was a 45 year member of the
Farm Bureau. His love for the land and the animals were a
big part of his life. He was part of the last tomato
canning Factory in Morgan County. The cannery closed in
1979. They grew tomatoes for delivering canned tomatoes
and water. Later he drove truck delivering apples south
and getting merchandise on return trips. In his later
years he farmed producing vegetables for all that came by
the farm. He was very proud of his 700 tomato plants and
300 Sweet banana pepper plants and potatoes. He always
said sweet corn was the easiest to grow. He ran a cow/calf
operation from an early age and still to this day has a
head of 50 cows. Everyone that came by the farm to work
became family. He will be greatly missed by his family and
