Donald Lee Mason

 

Donald “Donnie” Mason was a member of the Berkeley Springs Volunteer Fire Department for over 45 years. He was chosen Fireman of the Year in 2003. He was past chief of the fire department.

He was a founder of the Rescue Squad. He was a little league coach and umpire for 30 years.

He was involved with the Tri-State Softball league. He was the owner operator of Mason’s Florist for 37 years. He was a bus driver for 28 years. He was a member of the Upper Shenandoah Valley bowling league and a past president. He was also involved with the Moose, Eagles and Junior Order.

Mason had Renal (liver) cancer. He died in August 2003. 

He is survived by his wife Betty Mason, children Donald Mason, Jr., Barbara Litten, Greg Mason, and Lisa Webster; grandchildren Chris Mason, Eric Mason, Sabrina Mason, Jessica Mason, Crystal Litten, Stephen Litten, Brian Litten and Logan Webster; and great grandchildern Sylas Mason, MaKayla Mason and Emily Ann Mason.
