Evelyn Marie (LaFollette) McBee
Evelyn Marie McBee, 67, of Berkeley Springs, died Saturday, July 12, 2003, at Winchester (Va.) Medical Center.

Born May 9, 1936, in Morgan County, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Alvin M. and Josie Evelyn Michael LaFollette.

Her first husband, William M. Fritzman Jr., died June 6, 1981. Her husband, Henry Clay McBee Sr., died April 4, 1993. They were married May 9, 1973.

She was a 1955 graduate of Berkeley Springs High School.

She retired from the Eastern Panhandle Training Center as a one-to-one aide.

She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church of Spohrs Crossroads in Berkeley Springs, where she was a member of the Women's Society and the choir.

She was a member of DAV Auxiliary Chapter 34 in Berkeley Springs, where she served as commander.

She is survived by four daughters, Anna M. Peck, Debi J. Fritzman, Kimberly A. Faith and Chassidy L. Lantz, all of Berkeley Springs; two stepdaughters, Vera Walls of Berkeley Springs, and Lizetta Jensen of Irons, Mich.; one stepson, Clay McBee of Berkeley Springs; one granddaughter; four grandsons; six stepgrandchildren; one great-grandson; and stepgreat-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be Thursday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church of Spohrs Crossroads, Berkeley Springs. Pastor Wayne Frum and the Rev. Henry Fisher will officiate. Burial will be in Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home, Berkeley Springs, and one hour prior to the services at the church on Thursday. The funeral home will be open Wednesday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75231-4596.
