Jack Elwood Risinger, age 85, of Hedgesville, WV,
died on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at his son’s home
while under the care of Hospice of the Panhandle.
Born January 11, 1937 in Cherry Run, WV, he was the
son of the late Elwood Edward and Dorothy Mae French
Risinger.
He was a member of the Independent
Church of God in Hedgesville. He was a 1955 graduate of
Berkeley Springs High School. He was a plumber and
worked for 33 years with Dilkes Plumbing in Hedgesville
and as a supervisor with Washington County, MD
Wastewater for 21 years. He was a regular at the
Southern Belle Truck Stop, liked to do yardwork and
enjoyed watching his grandchildren’s sporting events.
Surviving are his children, Timothy Elwood Risinger
and his wife Teressa and Travis Edward Risinger and his
wife Billie Jo, all of Berkeley Springs, Rocky Bishop II
and his wife June, of Clear Spring, MD, Terry Bishop and
his wife Diane of Williamsport, MD and Tony Bishop of
Hedgesville, 15 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren
and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his
parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann
Deshong Risinger, two children, Dennis Bishop and Debbie
Grapes, four sisters, Bonnie Kay Murphy, Mary Lou
Largent, Diane Risinger and Janet Householder and one
brother, Thomas Risinger.
Funeral services will
be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 8, 2022
at the Independent Church of God, 8703 Martinsburg Road,
Hedgesville, WV where the family will receive friends
one hour prior to the service. Pastors Ada and Lynnie
Ambrose will officiate. Interment will be in Pleasant
Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends
from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Monday at Helsley-Johnson Funeral
Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union Street, Berkeley
Springs, WV.
