Lena
Helen Reynard, 82, of Berkeley Springs, WV, died on
Saturday, March 21, 2020, at Ohio’s Hospice of Dayton.
Born on September 6, 1937, in Morgan County, WV, she
was the daughter of the late Turner Ashby LaFollette, Jr.
and Mary Frances Householder LaFollette. She was a member
of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church at Spohrs Crossroads.
Lena graduated from Berkeley Springs High School in 1955.
She worked at a jewelry store and several clothing stores
while living in Loudoun County, VA. She and her late
husband returned home to Berkeley Springs when they
retired. Lena enjoyed sewing, baking, gardening, playing
cards and dominoes. She also enjoyed spending time with
family and friends.
Lena is survived by: daughter
Pam Thompson and husband Tod of Bluemont, VA, daughter Kim
Hicks and husband Scott of Dayton, OH, and son Darrell
Reynard, Jr. and wife Brittany of Alexandria, VA, one
brother, Kenneth and Veronica LaFollette of Berkeley
Springs, WV; seven grandchildren Samantha Hicks, Jessica
Hicks, Rebecca Hicks, Rachel Thompson, Dylan Thompson,
Alexan Broussard and Evangeline Reynard; and many nieces
and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was
preceded in death by her husband, Darrell Dowling Reynard,
Sr. on October 8, 2016, her twin sister Letha Ellen Mechem
and three brothers Stanley Milton Hovermale, Bruce Leon
LaFollette, Sr. and Donald Lee LaFollette.
Due to
the current Coronavirus crisis, there will be a private
family burial at Spohrs Crossroads Cemetery. The family
will plan a memorial service at a later date.
